The Father – Four kids in five years. Glad those diaper days are over. My heart is wrecked for each of them in different ways. Toby, Lydia, Blythe, and Sophie, who were formally known as hurricane Schmidt (we changed it because it felt like it was too prophetic and our house was always a disaster), and now known as Toby and the LBS (Pounds). No, they aren’t a band yet.

The Pastor – Not sure I fully qualify for this title but it seems to be the day job. The people of The Bridge Church continue to be the people I love to do life with.

The Leader – I love the opportunity to discover, develop, and deploy people to what God has called them to be about.

The Teacher – I did get my teaching endorsement for social studies and substitute taught for a while but my supervisors told me to seek another career. I now teach most weekends at The Bridge Church.

The Athlete – Thinking about going pro in the over 40 ultimate frisbee league I intend to found for Southeast Iowa. I believe I have first-round draft talent.

The Eater – Let’s go! I love eating out. My favorite food is homemade Chex mix and popcorn.

The Writer – Work in progress. Honestly, I started this blog to hopefully get better at it.

The Reader – I tend to read a lot. Historical Biographies, Leadership, and whatever my kids are reading.

The Fan – Twins / Gopher Football / MN Loons / Cincinnati Bengals / Timberwolves / I’m also a big fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes losing at anything and everything.
